The Child to Child for Africa foundation, established on September 16, 2002 , in Lugano, was created after a trip to Kenya . A desire of two friends to offer a concrete help to the people that live in conditions of extreme poverty.

We decided to dedicate our work to Domizio Lepori, tragically deceased in the sinking of the ferryboat Joola, in Senegal . His existence was characterized by a deep commitment and love to those who are emarginated and less fortunate.

The purpose of the foundation is to operate in the education branch, financing studies for African youth, without distinction of sex and religion, encouraging the professional formation and investing funds for the construction or the renewing of scholastic structures.

Our transparency and the regularity of our investments and activities are ensured by Reviglobal SA, Lugano and by a strict surveillance by the office of supervision of Bern , Switzerland .

In March 2004 we have also submitted a membership request to FOSIT (the federation that represents all ONG in the Ticino area). This submission will be examined during the general assembly 2005.

We feel it is important to be part of it as it will offer us the chance to:

• have a consulting service and support at all times
• create training schemes(through classes, meetings, conferences) on cooperation
• prepare a working project feasible in the country where we intend to operate
• meet members of other ONG and compare us with them in order to find most suitable ways to solve problems that also others encounter along the way.
